Posted by admin Posted on 5. November 2009 08:33

Norwich, United Kingdom, November 06, 2009
Interior Selection has carefully selected a range of special offers in the run up to Christmas from the wide range of contemporary designed furniture and accessories.

Mike Turner, MD of Interior Selection says that “since going live, the special offers range has already become a popular destination for its users looking for good value on designer brands.”

“With Christmas fast approaching, customers need to place their orders now to be sure of delivery. Delivery times vary from 2 days to 6 weeks, so its worth getting in touch if you want your order before Christmas” says Mike.

Interior Selection www.interiorselection.co.uk offers a select range of designer furniture from brands such as Conran, Louis Poulsen, John Sankey, Antonello and more.

When choosing a sofa, Interior Selection provides a large range of fabrics to choose from online, allowing users to request a swatch before placing orders to be sure of their choice. The friendly designer service can also be called upon when making those all important purchases for the home.

Mike Turner has been working in interior design for over 20 years, and opened his showroom in 2000 offering his favourite selections of furniture, lighting and textiles. His furniture store is designed to offer customers opportunity to browse in the showroom and make purchases online.

Top secret!

Posted by Mike Posted on 11. August 2009 21:09

Our web designers have been keeping this  a bit of a secret but from next month we will have a new look.  In response to the increasing size of home monitor screens and the huge range of new products we have introduced recently Interior Selection is upgrading.  Our new home page and category pages have more information on each screen as well as being easier and faster to navigate.  Hope you like the changes but please keep your comments coming in to me mike@interiorselection.co.uk

Here is a taster of the new layout

ITV 60 minute makeover

Posted by Mike Posted on 11. August 2009 16:15

Last August  we arrived to Join the ITV crew filming 60 minute makeover. Interior Selection had been invited to contribute and come along to see the filming. What struck me immediately was the the energy and team spirit of the crew.  It takes a day to setup and film but they are genuinely only working inside for an hour. We delivered a range of Conran furniture including the Russell Pinch sideboard shown with Derek Taylor the shows designer.  For some reason there is a Conran coffee table on top of the sideboard! The scheme was a great success and the jobs a good 'un!  The show will be on repeated soon, I will post the date when I know it.

Interior Designer returns safely

Posted by Sophie Posted on 10. August 2009 21:03

Congratulations to our resident interior designer Mike on completing his fundraising challenge.  Mike Turner and his friend Graham Michelli completed a coastal circuit of mainland Britain to raise over £2,500 pounds for local cancer charities.  Their route took them over 3,000 miles in two weeks.  Mike is now back full time to answer your Interior Design questions.  Well done Mike & Graham.

Interior Selection Classics

Posted by Mike Posted on 5. May 2009 18:13

Our interior designers have been mixing up classic and modern furniture with some great results.  The look is mature and reflects the mood of the times.

The site now includes a 'Classic Living' section.  We have added ranges that work in both modern and traditional settings.  Featuring ranges from John Sankey and others you can add another layer to your interior.  We show many fabric options but please call if you need advice or alternative fabrics.  If you want to supply your own fabric we can help too.  We are adding new items all the time but if you don't see what you are looking for let us know.

Taken from Mike's regular column in our regional newspaper the Eastern Daily Press

Posted by Sophie Posted on 6. February 2009 19:06

Eastern Daily Press, Feb 2009:

Written by Mike Turner

The snow is far preferable to the endless grey don’t you think?  At least the view of the garden is a magical one featuring a snowman instead of mud, man.  Right now you could be thinking of the hours you might spend outside when the weather breaks.  I’m serious.  Over the last few years June has been the best of the summer and that’s not far away.  If you want to set up an oasis of hedonistic sun worshiping then you need more than a barbeque.  The problem is always that our season is short, if you react rather than prepare you will miss the opportunity.  Outdoor furniture has matured into a huge marketplace with masses of choice.  But be careful.  Most of us need to keep the furniture outside and you really must buy the best quality you can afford or you will be wasting your money.  Look for durable woods with high natural oils like Teak or choose woven synthetic materials.  High quality plastics are woven over powder coated aluminium frames to create great shapes and amazing durability.  Hose it down, put the cushions on and lie back.  They may be rare moments but they take some beating.

Fabrics need to be chosen carefully too if they are likely to be outside for any time.  There are several new ranges of high quality outdoor materials that will not rot or fade.  Always ask about the specification before you buy and make sure the textiles are suitable.  Cotton and linen fabrics will perish very quickly under direct sunlight, the modern synthetics will give you thelook and feel you want and can be left out indefinitely. For further flexibility look out for modular seating that can be configured in a variety of shapes to create opposing seating, corner layouts or long runs.  Finally choose a cantilevered umbrella or two to overhang your seating or wall mounted retractable awnings.  If you are looking for inspiration try www.gloster.com or call into my shop for a brochure.  Keep things uncluttered and use plain fabrics for the large pieces with accent scatter cushions to compliment.  Mother nature is, after all, taking care of the decorating.

Finally I would like to thank everybody for the cards and kindness I received during my recent illness.  I am recovered now and owe many drinks to many people especially at the N&N hospital. A debt I am looking forward to repaying!
